The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is actively involved in planning, marketing, serving and developing our City’s center.  Principle services include Downtown retail recruitment and retention, community planning, community advocacy and quality of life services, consensus building, marketing, promotions, and events, trolley operations, and capital improvement project planning and implementation. The DDA is currently looking for an energetic, creative, collaborative, and responsible individual to fulfill the Marketing Coordinator position.

Work Days/Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Occasional Evenings and Weekends

Job Summary 

The Marketing Coordinator, with guidance from the Associate Director and Marketing Director advances the Downtown West Palm Beach brand, builds awareness of the Downtown Development Authority, and West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District through Social Media, strategic planning and coordination with the PR firm, and creates new opportunities to attract visitors Downtown via social media platforms, e-communications and event coordination.   

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Update and distribute event calendars
  • Research Public Relations opportunities and events to further Downtown’s brand
  • Promote DDA produced and sponsored events
  • Assist with developing strategic partnerships with art and culture organizations to increase awareness and reach for Downtown
  • Content creation for DDA produced publications, including newsletters, blogs, social and public relations communication
  • Prepare marketing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends
  • Web traffic and source analytics monitoring and reporting against key performance indicators
  • Manage and maintain website and social media pages – monitoring activity, content creation and trend analyzing 
  • Analyze, review and implement changes to website so it’s optimized for search engines
  • Create and maintain PR local media contact list for local media; including bloggers, influencers, reporters, journalist, radio personalities, etc. 
  • Keep promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with graphics department; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
  • Accomplish organization’s goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Skills and Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Advertising 
  • 2+ years of experience in Public Relations, Marketing or Advertising

  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge in graphic design programs (Photoshop, InDesign)

 Compensation & Benefits 

  • Salary Range: $32,500 - $40,000 
  •  DDA contributes 10% of your annual salary into a retirement plan with Lincoln Financial
